How Craft helped Aldi win the hearts of social followers with a comedic Check it out Checkout campaign
What we did

We launched a live social media shopping channel for Aldi UK called The Aisle of Aldi’s ‘Check it out Checkout’ with the aim of driving brand advocacy and basket sales.

How we did it

To help turn the boring world of commerce into a thumb-stopping platform for comedy, we introduced ‘Check it out Checkout’ – the first ever live social shopping channel for a supermarket, all written, directed and produced by Craft and McCann Manchester. To bring the concept to life, we chose a selection of UK viral comedians to host our tongue-in-cheek shopping channel by posing as Aldi staff working on a checkout. Bringing experienced comedy writers in-house was a unique proposition and offered Craft the chance to tap into their extended network of influencer and TV talent. Each Specialbuy presented could be bought over Facebook or Instagram Live, with new products available on every weekly show.
